The young core of AEW is full of future stars
One of the many appeals the current AEW roster has is the fact they have one of the most diverse rosters ever seen in wrestling, with each wrestler bringing something new to the table.
This roster is also young, with a few exceptions, and they are showing glimpses of the future stars they can be.
MJF
He is arguably the best heel in the business right now. The 23-year-old wrestler is an amazing wrester and promo cutter, and his talent has gained praise by people including Jim Cornette, who is not a big fan of modern wrestling in general.
MJF is one of the few wrestlers who lives his gimmick. From interviews to social media, MJF is always on character roasting fans, wrestlers and the occasional celebrity. He is showing the wrestling business that character is as important as in-ring talent.
There is no doubt that MJF will be one of AEW’s biggest stars when the right time comes.
Private Party
Before signing with AEW, Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy were making buzz in the indie scene. These two young men are the total package with a cool gimmick and a high-flying style.
In the few matches we’ve seen of Private Party in AEW, we can see why Matt and Nick Jackson picked this tag team to be part of the promotion. Both have charisma and individually, could be major stars for AEW.
They only need time to improve in certain aspects of their in-ring work and gimmick, but once they do, in a few years people will call them one of the best tag teams in the world.
Jungle Boy
Jungle Boy right now is one 1/2 of the hottest acts AEW has with Luchasaurus as his tag partner. His character work is just fun to see, and his look fits perfectly for the gimmick he portrays.
The recent success Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus are having shows the potential these two guys have to be major stars of AEW. Similar to the others, he needs to work on certain aspects like his promo skills, something we haven’t seen him use yet.
Other wrestlers of this young AEW core: Bea Priestly, Riho, Kylie Ray and Darby Allin are showing glimpses of the potential stars they could be for AEW and the wrestling business in general. These young wrestlers are the total package and the fact they are so young will help them connect with young audiences in no time.
