WWE SmackDown: Live Results from January 22, 2019

The Scrap has results for every match and promo on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
Advertised for tonight: Mysterio vs Andrade in 2-out-of-3 Falls showdown, Naomi vs Mandy Rose meet after their hotel fight, Miz vs Cesaro w/ their partners at ringside, Mr. McMahon, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and more.

Becky Lynch kicks off tonight’s episode. Says it’s good to be back in town, but she has something to say. Lynch says that many people have opinions on what she should do, but the only thing that she should be doing is main eventing WrestleMania. She turned her attention to Asuka, says she’s one of the best in the world, but she’s better. Claims to break The Empress to win back the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. Asuka interrupts.
Asuka begins screaming and mocking Lynch, as she holds up the title. Charlotte then makes her way to the ring, wearing all black. Charlotte says that she is going to win the Women’s Royal Rumble. Disses Sasha Banks for beating her multiple times and then Ronda Rousey, after the beating she gave her at WWE TLC. She then reminds Asuka that she broke her undefeated streak and tells Becky that she’s owned the division the last four years. Claims she is, “The Main Event.” Asuka then attacks Lynch from behind as Charlotte walks off. Asuka and Lynch continue going after each other as the referee’s try to pull them apart. Lynch gets the better of the exchange. The segment ends with Asuka yelling, angry at what just occurred.
We come back from commercials and Lynch and Asuka are still fighting. Lynch yells, “I’ll break your face,” as the officials attempt to break the fight.
The announcers cut to a video package of the Mandy Rose, Naomi, and Jimmy Uso angle.
Before the match starts, Naomi goes after Rose outside of the ring.
Mandy Rose w/ Sonya Deville def. Naomi.
Jimmy comes out to be with Naomi after her loss.
Rey Rumble announces that he’s going to win the Royal Rumble, again. Also says that tonight is about respect, with the even playing fields now that Zelina Vega is banned from ringside.
We cut to The Miz and Shane McMahon backstage. Miz gets ready to make his way to the ring.
Cesaro w/ Sheamus def. The Miz w/ Shane McMahon.
Shane attacks both Cesaro and Sheamus after the match. Shane puts Cesaro on the announce table and makes his way up the top rope. Sheamus saves the day, pushes Shane off and beats up Miz. The Bar put Miz on the announce table, pick up Shane and throw Shane on Miz to break the table.
Mustafa Ali video package plays of him taking about Samoa Joe, who jumped him from behind last week.
After the commercial break, Mr. McMahon makes his way out to the ring. Plugs the Tag Team match at the Royal Rumble. Then he introduces AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan, who will go face-to-face. Bryan says that he doesn’t want to get in the ring, cause he knows this situation too well. Says an illiterate future will happen if Styles becomes Champion. Claims that Styles uses his fame for the money and he uses his for the greater good. Styles says Bryan talks like a jackass. Bryan says he’s the Planet Champion. Styles calls Bryan fickle and it drives him insane. Styles says Bryan will have nothing left after takes the title away from him. Vince interrupts Bryan and says he’s tired of what’s going on and tells Bryan to get in the ring. The crowd chants, “yes!” Bryan blames McMahon and the Baby Boomers who are parasites of this world. As Bryan keeps talking, Vince interrupts again and tells him to get in the ring once again. Styles goes after Bryan, catches him and begins fighting. Bryan ends up getting the best of the exchange, laying Styles out before taking off with his title.
Backstage R-Truth and Carmella are backstage, talking about being No. 30 in The Rumble. R-Truth says that he wants to go after the Cruiserweight Championship if he wins, because he does not want to go against Brock Lesnar. Carmella then finds Charlotte, telling her that she wasn’t in the match last year while proceeding to give her advice. Carmella is confident in her number, but Charlotte says that she’s confident too because she is Charlotte Flair. Claims she’s the tornado of The Rumble that Carmella speaks of.
Samoa Joe def. Mustafa Ali.
Rey Mysterio vs Andrade is next.
Backstage The New Day is interviewed regarding The Royal Rumble matchup, asking if they are willing to eliminate each other. The New Day claims they are always asked this question. Says if one of them wins, they all win. Big E pays tribute to Cardi B saying she they will dog walk everyone in the match. Segment ends with the three of them singing, “No Kayla.”
2-out-of-3 Falls Match: Rey Mysterio vs Andrade ends in a no-contest after Samoa Joe interferes.
After destroying Mysterio and Andrade, Joe grabs the mic and as he’s talking to the crowd, Randy Orton shows up with an RKO out of nowhere to end the show.
