Women's WrestleMania Trilogies

Women’s WrestleMania Trilogies That Need To Happen

Read Time:4 Minute, 43 Second

It’s wild to think that in WWE history, we’ve yet to see a women’s WrestleMania trilogy etched into the record books. With more than a couple of women’s match at WrestleMania already being rare, we’re looking ahead to not only the trilogies that could unfold based on the current landscape, but also the ones that should happen—even if these stars haven’t clashed at WrestleMania yet.

The first women’s trilogy will be historic and iconic, but it shouldn’t be the last. Read about five must-see women’s WrestleMania trilogies that need to happen in our lifetime:

Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley

The fact that we were robbed of this match at WrestleMania 41 is criminal. Maybe it’s too soon, but it would be fitting for this to become the first-ever women’s WrestleMania trilogy—especially with the series tied at 1-1. Given how much Rhea Ripley has grown since their last encounter, a third match feels inevitable.

Their first match was great, but their second was undeniable—so much so that many believed it should have headlined WrestleMania. No matter what, their next clash belongs on the grandest stage of them all. So, here’s to hoping we get it in the next few years and Triple H doesn’t fumble the bag.

Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks

The debate over the best women’s match in WrestleMania history will always continue. But, few moments were bigger—or better—than this career-defining night for Bianca Belair. This match will be remembered for so many reasons. It launched Bianca into the main event scene, and showcased Sasha Banks’ ability to elevate talent. It was also the first WrestleMania main event to feature not just two women, but two Black women.

Beyond its significance, it was simply one of the best matches I’ve ever seen. It’s a bout that deserves a full WrestleMania trilogy before both women call it a career. Of course, with Mercedes Moné now in AEW, and the rematch yet to happen that seems unlikely. But if 2025 has taught us anything about pro wrestling, it’s to never say never.

Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka

The buildup to their WrestleMania match was legendary, with Asuka being on the run of a lifetime. While Charlotte winning made sense, the outcome shocked everyone, as it abruptly halted Asuka’s momentum on the main roster. It’s a moment that forever linked them in history.

Though this trilogy seems the most unlikely on this list, it would be more than worthy of the WrestleMania stage. Not only are they towards the end of their careers, a rematch has yet to happen, and probably won’t. Both are future Hall of Famers though, and a final chapter between them would be a fitting tribute to their legacies.

Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax

While their WrestleMania match was decent and the build felt a bit cringe, it was the moment that elevated Nia Jax to the main event. Though their original storyline wouldn’t work today, both have evolved so much in their careers. It’s weird they’ve barely crossed paths since this all played out. A rematch just feels inevitable—and something fans would actually want to see.

With Alexa Bliss back and seemingly destined for a storyline with the Wyatt Sicks, and Nia coming off the best title run of her career as one of the top heels in the business, the timing couldn’t be better to build towards a WrestleMania rematch in 2026. Both still have plenty left to accomplish, and a WrestleMania trilogy wouldn’t just be warranted—it would be welcomed.

Tiffany Stratton vs. Charlotte Flair

While their first match has yet to happen and the build has been underwhelming, Tiffany Stratton’s trajectory makes this matchup feel inevitable. Charlotte Flair is Charlotte Flair—a first-ballot Hall of Famer who could easily compete for another 5-10 years. Meanwhile, Tiffany has an entire career ahead of her. But, has already accomplished so much in a short time.

No matter the outcome at WrestleMania 41, this won’t be their last encounter. Both are too talented and, despite their different paths, are likely to have similar career trajectories. One thing is certain—their match is going to be an absolute banger.

Matches That Haven’t Happened—But Could:

We don’t have many options for women’s WrestleMania trilogies. After all, they weren’t even featured in the main event until recently. However, the landscape is changing, and dream matchups could become a reality in the coming years. With that in mind, we wanted to highlight some exciting singles matches that deserve a spot on the grandest stage of them all, one day.

First, with IYO SKY inserting herself into the WrestleMania match, fans won’t be getting the dream showdown between Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair this year. Given that they both graced the cover of WWE 2K24, this was a matchup fans didn’t realize they needed… Until it became a real possibility. While that battle will have to wait, Naomi vs. Jade Cargill feels like it could end up happening, given their first non-title match will make history at WrestleMania 41.

Lastly, we can’t forget Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan. While they’ve clashed numerous times and their storyline has run its course for some, their in-ring chemistry is undeniable. Considering how they’ve carried the women’s division over the past year, a WrestleMania clash feels like destiny—it’s just a matter of timing.
