Will Omega vs. Ospreay III happen at Wembley Stadium?
So far, Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay have produced two of the best matches of the year. Their Wrestle Kingdom match is definitely a favorite for the Match of the Year award, but it’s also one of the greatest matches of all time. Their second encounter is also being praised by most pro wrestling fans.
While the two matches have been fantastic, the scoreboard is currently 1-1. It would make sense for them to have one final match to decide who the superior wrestler is in this rivalry…
Trilogy Incoming?
The first match took place on neutral grounds in Japan for both wrestlers, and their most recent bout took place in Canada, Omega’s home country. The third and final encounter should take place in England, Ospreay’s home country. Timing couldn’t be better right now, considering AEW will be running a show at Wembley Stadium in London on August 27.
It makes so much sense for this match to take place and be the main event for All In II. It would also sell tickets for AEW, aiding in their quest to sellout Wembley Stadium. Signs are pointing to this match needing to happen, and there’s no better venue to settle the score than inside Wembley Stadium.
Only Time Will Tell
For now, we don’t know if there is a plan for a third match between Omega and Ospreay. But there’s very few matches AEW could book that could sell as many tickets as Omega vs. Ospreay, with the exceptions of Omega vs. CM Punk and Omega vs. Okada. But there’s also no indication of those matches being considered for All In II.
Not booking Omega vs. Ospreay III at the upcoming All In would be a huge missed opportunity by AEW, and to an extent, NJPW. Only time will tell what Tony Khan’s plans are for All In II, and what the main event match will be.
What do you think? Does the trilogy have to happen at Wembley Stadium?
