Favorites to Win the 2020 Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble will take place this Sunday at the Minute Maid Park located in Houston, Texas. Once this PPV happens, the road to WrestleMania will begin.

The Royal Rumble is one of WWE’s most important PPVs of the year and the winner will get the opportunity to challenge the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar or the WWE Universal champion Bray Wyatt to a match in this year’s edition of WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns (winner of the 2015 Royal Rumble) is the favorite to win this year’s edition of the men’s Rumble according to fans and most betting sites.

A victory for Reigns could be the perfect and a natural way to reintroduce Reigns to the main event picture. The most likely scenario is that Reigns wins the Rumble and The Fiend retains the Universal championship, so both can clash at WrestleMania.

Cain Velasquez

Most betting sites have the former two-time UFC Heavyweight champion in the top five of wrestlers with the best odds of winning this year’s Rumble.

Cain Velasquez had an underwhelming debut with WWE and a victory for him in the Rumble could be a strong way to reintroduce him to the WWE audience.

CM Punk

A favorite to win the Rumble according to most betting sites is CM Punk. While this scenario is very unlikely, never say never in the wrestling business.

Fans all over the world want for CM Punk to return to the ring, but on more than one occasion CM Punk has mentioned he is not interested in returning to the ring.

Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin is one Vince McMahon’s favorite wrestlers on the current roster of WWE and him winning the Royal Rumble could be a likely scenario to happen.

Corbin has already won the King of The Ring tournament and the Money in the Bank. So, him adding the Rumble to his list of accolades is not a crazy idea to think about.

Edge

Although another unlikely scenario, for months now, reports of Edge making a return to the ring make him another favorite to win this year’s Rumble.

Edge won the 2010 edition of the Royal Rumble, so returning 10 years later would be a great story to tell.

The third edition of the women’s Royal Rumble will also take place, but the build to this year’s Rumble has been underdeveloped which makes things more unpredictable.

Charlotte Flair

The 10 time women’s champion is currently the favorite by many betting sites as the winner of this year’s Royal Rumble.

Last year she was the finalist of the Rumble and ended up being part of the historic first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event.

Shayna Baszler

Reports of Shayna Baszler being ready for the main roster have been around for quite some time now and a Rumble win could be a great way to introduce the former two times NXT Women’s champion to the main roster audience.

If she wins the Rumble, most likely she will face the current RAW women’s champion Becky Lynch.

Ronda Rousey

A lot of fans have been waiting for the return of former UFC and Raw women’s champion Ronda Rousey to WWE after an incredible rookie year she had in 2018.

In a similar case to Baszler, she would most likely face Lynch at WrestleMania.
