Wednesday Night Wars: WWE NXT Week 10 Review
As the fallout from War Games continues, and we look ahead to the next TakeOver, how would NXT would progress this week?
Bask in His Glory
Keith Lee’s NXT run had been a bit disappointing till this point, and by disappointing I mean practically non-existent.
He had that one good match with Dijakovic but that was kind of it, and it always confused me. I always saw Lee as a main eventer on NXT, but he was never getting that spot, until now. Prior to War Games, Lee was thrusted into the Main Event scene as part of Team Ciampa, and he has not come down.
In the matter of a couple weeks, he is being treated like a main eventer, and the fans adore him. Every week he continues to shine and this week was no different. Everything he did, he did with the intention of getting attention, and it’s worked. Not sure where he goes next, he is in a #1 contenders match next week.
I don’t think he will win that match, but he will be NXT Champion, he has consistently been a bright spot.
Finn Balor!
I know I talk about this every week, but Finn Balor is the man. It is amazing how two different shows under the same company can book him two totally different ways.
Finn was always his best in NXT and he has not missed a beat. It is amazing how the “developmental” brand has booked Finn better than the supposed A-Show. Finn had become bland on main roster, and in a matter of a few weeks he has become fresh again. He went from being a babyface that smiled a lot, to being a Prince Devitt-esque badass.
NXT has proven to be the perfect place for the Prince. He can also help along younger guys behind the scenes, it’s perfect!
Rating
I have to be honest, this was not my favourite episode of NXT. Sure there was good stuff, but I feel like not a lot happened.
We had a Women’s Championship match between Shayna and Rhea booked for TakeOver. Then a Triple Threat #1 Contender’s match booked for next week with Finn vs. Lee vs. Ciampa.
Other than that though, this was a fairly skippable episode.
