VIDEO: Jon Jones head butts police car on body cam footage
Jon Jones can be seen in a newly released bodycam video acting in what appears to be extreme emotional distress.
The video stems from Jones being detained on September 24th of 2021 but was only released publically yesterday on the ominous date of Tuesday, 2/2/22.
A Legend in a Downward Spiral?
Sadly, the video illustrates Jones’ self-confessed problem with alcohol. It’s never cool to see someone at rock-bottom and going through a hard time, but what’s worse is it has become almost common in the storyline of his career.
In the video “Jonny Bones” Jones can be seen in handcuffs, surrounded by a litany of officers.
“I hate you… you f***in nerd,” Jones can be heard screaming at one point to the officers. “I came from my hall of fame ceremony… and I’m black… and I have friends… hurt me and kill me!”
“What did I do? A black man can’t drink? Getting elected to the hall of fame and all? This is what I got? What did I do?” Jones is obviously drunk and under the influence, and is rambling.
“I hate you, I hate you!” Jones screamed before suddenly head-butting the police car viciously. This prompted the officers to put him in the police cruiser, most likely in an attempt to diffuse the situation and prevent Jones from injuring himself any further.
The Jon Jones Arrest Saga
So far, Jon Jones has had four incidents with the law. However, his September 2021 arrest was the most serious of them all. “Bones” was charged with misdemeanor battery, domestic violence, and injuring or tampering with a vehicle.
Prior to that, his arrests were pretty mild, however, he did have a hit-and-run involving a pregnant lady in Albuquerque, New Mexico. That night, Jones had run a red light and crashed into two vehicles. Then, in a now infamously famous event, he fled the scene on foot.
This was Jones’ biggest scandal before his domestic violence charges, and it once seriously threatened his career. Now, with this new bodycam footage being released, we can see in an all too eery way the precarious tightrope Jones walks between prison and the UFC hall of fame.
