Undefeated Amateur Devon Lozej set to Make Pro Debut at BTC 11
Undefeated bantamweight prospect Devon Lozej (4-0 Am.) will make his anticipated professional debut on August 15 at BTC 11.
Lozej, 28, fought and won four times as an amateur in 2019 for Wisconsin’s Warrior Games promotion. Unable to fight due to the COVID-19 pandemic, related restrictions, and difficulty finding fights, Lozej signed with Dodge Sports with the intention of turning pro in 2021.
“I’m very excited,” Lozej said. “It’s going to have been 18 months since I last fought, so I’m just ready to show everything that I’ve worked on for the last year and a half. I’m just ready to get in there, man. It can’t come fast enough, to be honest.
“It was tough, at first, with the pandemic stuff. Being very active, I used to have fights lined up all the time. I got to really sit back and focus on building new skills, though. It’s something you don’t really get to do during a training camp because a camp is all about pushing hard for a specific opponent. I got to build a lot of new skills that I’m pumped to show off in the cage.”
Though he was unable to compete in Canada as an amateur, “The Dream” will return to his home nation for his professional debut for BTC, one of the country’s top promotions.
“It’s an amazing opportunity, and I’m stoked,” shared Lozej. “I believe I deserve this. I wouldn’t have signed the contract if I didn’t believe I was ready, so I’m just ready to show up and put on a great performance.”
Lozej will bring his 100% finishing rate to the pay-per-view broadcast, and he has promised fans who will watch him compete for the first time a show.
“Tune in and find out. There’s a lot of people that are behind me, and I’m sure there are people that think this step is too much. So, tune in on August 15 and watch me put on a performance!”
