The Ultimate Fighter 28 runner-up wants a shot at Greg Hardy next
The Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters runner-up, Justin Frazier, wants a shot at the UFC’s new heavyweight golden boy, Greg Hardy.
Hardy recently was disqualified against Allen Crowder at UFC Brooklyn for an illegal knee to the side of Crowder’s head. An attack that Hardy claims was unintentional, leaving the media and MMA community to question the UFC newcomer.
After his DQ loss, the crowd made sure to show Hardy how they truly felt with, “asshole” chants flooding the Barclays Center. Hardy has made it clear that he would be willing to rematch Crowder and continue fighting for the UFC if Dana White allowed him. Unsurprisingly, White will keep Hardy around. However, now he now needs an opponent willing to get in the Octagon with him.
Enter “The Grizzly Bear.”
Frazier has recently campaigned on his Facebook account for a shot at Hardy next. Frazier would be the perfect matchup for the former NFL star and just the opponent Hardy needs to showcase that he belongs in the UFC. Frazier is 11-3 and loves to stand-up throwing fists with his opponents, similar to the controversial star.
The Arkansas scrapper made it to the finals of TUF 28, falling to Juan Espino via submission in the first round. He recently defeated Kevin Sears via unanimous decision, his first time going the distance as a professional. Frazier has an impressive resume of multiple first-round finishes and would be an exciting matchup for Hardy. The fight has potential to be a stand-up war the UFC fans deserve to see and a chance for Hardy to bounce back after losing by disqualification.
Dana White, let’s book it: Frazier vs Hardy in Nashville on March 23.
