The Ultimate Fighter 28 featherweight announces UFC signing
TUF 28’s Bea Malecki announced her recent signing with UFC via Instagram on Wednesday.
“Just wanna say everything is possible if you believe and work hard enough,” writes Malecki. “Now it’s time to work even harder!”
Malecki was one of eight featherweights who competed on the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter. Bea was the 6th pick on Team Gastelum, losing via unanimous decision to UFC-signed featherweight, Leah Letson in the first round of the tournament. It was Malecki’s most high-profile MMA bout of her career after going 3-0 as an amateur. She comes from the Allstars Training Center in Stockholm, alongside the likes of Alexander Gustafsson and Ilir Latifi.
“Bad News Barbie” is coming into the UFC with a 2-0 record. Her most recent win came from a first-round TKO of Tracy Smith at ExciteFight back in February 2018. Although Malecki’s record shows her inexperience in MMA, she is a former European Muay Thai champion, competing in over 20 Muay Thai fights.
It is still unknown whether Malecki will fight at bantamweight or featherweight. Her signing seems promising for the 145-pound division as she is the first of the TUF 28 women to receive a contract.
I have reached out to Bea for an official statement.
