The fights to watch at UFC on ESPN 2 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The UFC touches down in the city of brotherly love Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 30 as top UFC lightweights meet in night’s main event.
Edson Barboza, one of the most violent strikers in the lightweight division, faces the most violent man in the UFC, Justin Gaethje. This is sure to go down as one of the best lightweight fights of all-time. In the co-main event, top ten contender David Branch takes on a prospect in Jack Hermansson.
Here are the fights to watch at UFC Philadelphia.
Josh Emmet vs Michael Johnson
This is a very important fight for both men. Emmet is looking to bounce back from a devastating knockout loss to Jeremy Stephens. A win against Michael Johnson would put him right back on track. As for Johnson, this is his chance to crack the top ten for the first time and make a real run at featherweight with Max Holloway going up in weight. The division is wide open and anyone could be fighting for an interim or regular title fight in the near future.
Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs Michelle Waterson
The strawweight division never seems to get boring as so many great fights have been booked and this is another one of those. Both Karolina and Michelle are elite fighters in the division. Karolina has fought for a world title. Michelle hasn’t and a few more big wins at 115-pounds could put her right there to contend for the championship strap. After her knockout loss to Jessica Andrade, I’m very curious to see how Karolina looks in this scrap against a formidable opponent in Waterson.
David Branch vs Jack Hermansson
Coming off a huge loss, David Branch will be looking to use Hermansson as a way to get back in the win column. David has the potential to be a top title contender and I truly believe he under estimated Jared Cannonier and that’s what got him put away. As for Jack Hermansson, if he could pull off the upset, he would for sure top the crack top-15 in middleweight rankings.
Edson Barboza vs Justin Gaethje
This is sure to go down as one of the greatest fights of all-time. Both men come to scrap, always. Edson Barboza is coming off a huge win against Dan Hooker and has welcomed a war with Gaethje. Both men are bound to eventually get a title shot once the smoke clears in the lightweight division. Do not miss this main event, you’ll regret it!
