The fights to watch at UFC Fight Night 148 in Nashville, Tennessee

On Saturday March 23, the UFC makes their way to Nashville, Tennessee for an amazing fight card when top welterweights clash as #3 ranked Stephen Thompson faces former lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis.

In the co-main event, heavyweights go to war as #4 ranked Curtis Blaydes takes on #10 ranked Justin Willis.

Curtis Blaydes vs Justin Willis

UFC heavyweights collide as Curtis ‘Razor’ Blaydes takes on Justin ‘Big Pretty’ Willis. Blaydes is 4-1 in his last 5 fights and Willis, is 5-0 in his last 5. Blaydes holds a professional record of 10-2 with 8 KOs and 2 decisions. His only two losses inside the Octagon were against heavyweight contender and former title challenger Francis Ngannou. In these two bouts, Blaydes lost by way of knockout. Willis holds a professional record of 8-1 with 4 KOs and 4 decisions. He is currently riding an 8-fight win streak and holds a UFC record of 4-0. Both of these guys have heavy hands and can finish the fight at any moment. All it takes is one shot. Both fighters have fought some of the best guys in the heavyweight division. Maycee Barber vs J.J. Aldrich

UFC women’s strawweights will take the Octagon Saturday night as undefeated prospect Maycee ‘The Future’ Barber looks to continue her run against J.J. Aldrich. However, they will meet at 125-pounds as both women have decided to move up in weight. Barber holds a professional record of 6-0 with 3 KOs, 2 submissions, and 1 decision. She is 2-0 in the UFC, with one win on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series and the other on UFC Fight Night 139’s undercard. Barber’s last three wins have been by TKO. On the other hand, Aldrich is 7-2 professionally with 2 KOs and 5 decisions. She is currently riding a 3-fight win streak, with all three wins coming by unanimous decision.

Stephen Thompson vs Anthony Pettis

UFC welterweights will be in action for the main event of the evening, as Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson battles Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis in a pivotal match-up for the division!

Thompson holds a professional record of 14-3 with 7 KOs, 1 submission, and 6 decisions. Anthony Pettis, who is moving up from the lightweight division, holds a professional record of 21-8. Pettis has 9 KOs, 8 submissions, and 4 decisions. Pettis is a former lightweight champion of the UFC. Thompson is a former welterweight title challenger. Pettis is 2-2 in his last 4 fights, where he fought all top guys from lightweight. These names include Tony Ferguson, Michael Chiesa, Dustin Poirier and Jim Miller. Thompson is 1-2-1 in his last 4 fights, having fought all top welterweight competition himself. These names include Darren Till, Jorge Masvidal and Tyron Woodley 2x. It is surely safe to say that both of these guys have been fighting at the highest level for a very long time.
