The Attitude Era would not do well today

In today’s society, the Attitude Era would not work well for WWE.

Why? The fans. We always have something to complain about on social media, whether it’s about a wrestler or even a decision made for a wrestler. When Cody Rhodes took an unprotected headshot from Shawn Spears, the wrestling community was divided on if they liked it or not. Personally I enjoyed it, because it brought out something we haven’t seen in a long time. Plus the chair shot was gimmicked, so Cody wasn’t severely injured.

Many were saying that it was awesome to see, others said it was disgusting to watch and that should never happen again.

Back in the day, the Attitude Era had blood, violent matches, half-naked women, and much more. If you brought some of that out today, you would have a small group of people with something to say. In today’s age, that seems to be the downfall for many things. With that being said, we can have blood, not as violent matches, and we can still show off the women in a different light. You can be hardcore and still be family-friendly.

I’m all for bringing back swagger that made wrestling even more entertaining, but sadly most people are against that nowadays.

AEW is willing to go to the  extreme and with WWE having some competition, we can get that edgier product many lust for. WWE will have to tap into some aspects of the Attitude Era, if they want to compete with the new promotion.
