The aftermath of AEW Revolution

Read Time:1 Minute, 53 Second

The first PPV of AEW in 2020 took place at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. It had many implications for the future of AEW in general. Overall this was a really good PPV for new and old fans of wrestling.

New AEW Champion: Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley defeated Chris Jericho to become the new AEW Champion. The main event of the show was really good and both wrestlers looked great.

Moxley was the right choice to be the right person to take the championship from Jericho. The future of the AEW Championship looks interesting with all new kinds of match-ups on the way.

Fun fact: Jon Moxley is the youngest AEW Champion.

Kenny Omega & Hangman Adam Page vs. The Young Bucks

For the third match in a row, Kenny Omega was part of a Match of the Year contender. Kenny Omega right now has a strong case for Wrestler of the Year.

This match was outstanding and both teams did a fabulous work. AEW is making tag team wrestling relevant again.

After the match, Adam Page teased a possible turn on Kenny Omega. Things seem very interesting in the future of the current AEW Tag Team Champions.

Kris Statlander vs. Nyla Rose

This good women’s match had the difficult task of following a Match of the Year contender. But both women, despite the circumstances of following the match and Statlander being sick, had a good match.

AEW can’t make these mistakes with their women’s division. For now, this was a good showing for the current AEW Women’s Champion, Nyla Rose.

Orange Cassidy tried!

Orange Cassidy vs. Pac was a really fun match. The crowd was amazing during this match and it was just so different from everything else on the card.

Pac winning was the right choice, but it doesn’t take anything away from Orange Cassidy.

MJF w/ Wardlow vs. Cody w/ Arn Anderson & Brandi Rhodes

This old school style match was really good and had a lot of great storytelling points. This match ended in a screw finish and it’s most likely that the feud will continue.

The only negative of this match was Cody’s new neck tattoo that was too distracting.

MJF did a wonderful job as the heel of the feud.
