The 5 best WrestleMania matches of all time
With another two-night WrestleMania just around the corner, it’s now the perfect time to look at the best matches that have taken place during the showcase of the immortals.
Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin (WM 13)
Bret Hart and Steve Austin had created chemistry together and this match was the pinnacle of that chemistry. This bout has one of the best finishes of all-time with the now legendary double turn between Austin and Hart. Steve Austin may have lost that match, but in the long term he gained much more.
Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat vs. ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage (WM III)
This is of the most iconic matches in pro wrestling history. It was Macho Man’s magnum opus. This was a once in a life time performance from both legends of the game. This is one of those matches that is timeless and gets better than more times you watch it. One of the best aspects of this match were all the small details.
SHawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker (WM XXVI)
The year before this match, Michaels and Undertaker had an almost perfect match. The following year on WrestleMania XXVI, they surpassed their previous matches with this one. Shawn Michaels’ career was on the line and at the end, Undertaker prevailed. Without a question, one of the best WrestleMania main events ever.
The only stain on this match was the fact Michaels would end up coming back for a Saud Arabia show match that was one of the worst matches in WWE history.
Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels (WM X)
One word, ICONIC! That’s the perfect way to describe this match. This is one of the many examples of why Shawn Michaels is called “Mr. WrestleMania”. Razor Ramon and HBK delivered one of the most iconic matches in WWE history.
This bout would later serve as template for all the all-time great ladder matches we’ve seen in pro wrestling history.
Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels (WM XII)
Going an hour in a match is an impossible task and few wrestlers have been able to make it work. From minute one, Michaels and Hart had the attention of the fans watching live and at home.
This ironman match is a masterclass of show to build a match and retain their attention despite being really long. Hart and Michaels complimented eachother so well, and because so, this will remain their best encounter.
Honorable Mentions
- Owen Hart vs. Bret Hart (WM X)
- Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels (WM XXV)

- Daniel Bryan vs. Batista vs. Randy Orton (WM XXX)
- Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan (WM 35)
