Sasha Banks & Naomi walk the runway at New York Fashion Week
WWE fans have been patiently awaiting for the return of former Tag Team Champions, Sasha Banks and Naomi. Though we have not seen them inside a ring in a while, Mercedes Varnado and Trinity Fatu have been staying busy, most recently walking the runway at New York Fashion Week.
Aside from NYFW, the duo recently appeared together at the premiere of Marvel’s She-Hulk. Before that, they made their first post-WWE public appearance at C2E2. It has since been rumored that WWE has been in talks with Banks and Naomi in hopes of smoothing things over.
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Triple H was asked about Banks possibly making a return. “Time will tell,” said Levesque. “Communication breakdowns are terrible, and there is a communication breakdown there for whatever reason. Starting back up that communication is not a difficult process, but it can be a process … But she’s [an] unbelievably talented young woman that can do just about anything she wants. It just comes down to what does she want to do now with her life, her career, whatever that is.”
Triple H also went on to say that Sasha is, “one of the biggest stars in our business.” So even though not explicitly stated, you know there’s no way WWE wants to lose Banks. At this point, the talent and star power is undeniable. Both Sasha and Naomi’s stocks rose massively since they left the company and were subsequently suspended indefinitely. They remained a trending topic on Twitter for weeks after, even though both women went silent and disappeared from social media.
Check out their runway walks, looks, and some behind the scenes clips from NYFW:
