Roman Bogatov set to make debut against Leonardo Santos at UFC 251

Read Time:1 Minute, 4 Second

Undefeated MMA fighter Roman Bogatov (10-0) will make his UFC debut at UFC 251 on July 11.

The 29-year-old Russian fighter signed with the UFC in November as the M-1 Challenge lightweight champion. In his most recent fight last August at M-1 Challenge 104, Bogatov beat Mickael Lebout in his second title defense. The bout finished at the end of the third round when Lebout was unable to continue due to a shoulder injury. Bogatov is a true submission artist. Only three of his professional fights have made it to the judge’s scorecards.

Bogatov will face Brazilian fighter Leonardo Santos (17-3-1) on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. At 40-years-old, the lightweight has a perfect record in the UFC. He ended his last fight against Stevie Ray at UFC on ESPN+ 11 with a quick first round TKO. Santos, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, signed with the UFC in 2013 after competing on TUF Brazil 2. He is a highly decorated grappler, winning the BJJ World Championships seven times.

Fight fans should highlight this match as one to watch on the UFC 251 prelims. It should be an interesting fight between two high-level grapplers who are used to being in the win column.
