Read Time:1 Minute, 24 Second

As the Pro Wrestling Spotlight continues, we’ll stay a bit longer in the city of Barcelona. This time, we’ll learn more about the most well-known promotion in the city, Resist Pro Wrestling.

Resist Pro Wrestling was established in 2015, but under a different name, RIOT Wrestling. During 2021, the promotion decided to finally change their name to the one we now know. While the promotion still ran as Resist Pro Wreslting, as far as shows are concerned, RPW produces two brands of entertainment, those being RIOT and RAGE.

Resist Pro Wrestling also has its own pro wrestling school under the banner Resist Academy. The more experienced wrestlers, as well as the more advanced students are the people in charge of training the more inexperienced wrestlers to help them adapt as soon as possible.

The promotion has a lot of interesting names as regulars of the Barcelona scene. Many have huge potential to do more if given the chance… Names like: Issl, TJ Charles, Carranza, Cosmos, Tony Aeri, Pedrolo and Murciano for their RIOT brand. César Bravo, Alexander Red, Rafael Flores and ‘El Payaso’ Sullivan for their RAGE brand.

2022 has been a great year for RPW, they are the promotion in Spain with the most shows produced. They currently have more than 100 shows so far. It’s truly an amazing accomplishment and shows the quick growth it has shown these last few years. It’s another indicator that Spain is slowly becoming a hot spot for pro wrestling. A sign that the Spanish scene has finally recovered from the effects of the pandemic.
