NXT Stand & Deliver 2024 Predictions
WWE NXT Stand & Deliver 2024 gears up to take over the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 6. In the main event, one of the most anticipated matches of the night will go down. Former friends turned rivals, Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes, face off in a clash that is sure to steal the show. Meanwhile, the NXT Championship will be up for grabs as Ilja Dragunov defends his title against Tony D’Angelo.
The NXT Women’s Championship will also be defended as Lyra Valkyria puts her title on the line against the relentless Roxanne Perez in a rivalry that has reached its boiling point. Oba Femi will also defend his NXT North American Championship against Dijak and Josh Briggs in a Triple Threat Match.
NXT will set the tone for WrestleMania weekend in what is promised to be a banger of a card. Read our staff predictions ahead of Night 1:
Carmelo Hayes vs. Trick Williams
Joel: WHOOP THAT TRICK! There is absolutely no way that Trick Williams loses this one. He’s gone through the wringer and he has had his big moments taken from him by Melo. Getting revenge during WrestleMania weekend is going to be the icing to the cake. There’s a reason why WWE higher-ups are keen on Trick. It’s time they push him to the moon and beyond.
Predictions: Trick Williams
Katie: I’m literally so torn… I love both men, but we know that Melo don’t miss. I have a feeing that they are going to make Trick Williams’ road to the main title a little harder. WWE just loves prolonging it to build mega babyfaces. I just don’t see this being any different, unfortunately. But it’s going to get the spotlight it deserves, so it better be for a good reason.
Predictions: Carmelo Hayes
NXT Championship Match: Ilja Dragunov (C) vs. Tony D’Angelo
Joel: Ilja Dragunov needs to be on the main roster already. He puts on amazing matches, has had some phenomenal feuds on NXT, and he’s beaten just about everyone on the roster. For that, and for that reason alone, Tony D will be your new WWE NXT Champion.
Prediction: Tony D’Angelo
Katie: The Family is going to get their first NXT Champion at Stand & Deliver. And if we’re being honest, it’s about time that Tony D wins the main title. He has been doing great things on the main roster and has become one of the best when it comes to character commitment. I think with a bit of help, he’ll get it done on the biggest stage yet.
Prediction: Tony D’Angelo
NXT Women’s Championship: Lyra Valkyria (C) vs. Roxanne Perez
Joel: It’s time for WWE to take the belt off of Lyra Valkyria. Roxanne’s new heel turn has me excited for a second title run for one of the brand’s brightest prospects. Though Roxanne’s main roster call-up is overdue, after the run Lyra had, she may move up first.
Prediction: Roxanne Perez
Katie: I’m torn, because it makes sense for Roxanne Perez to win the title. It also makes just as much sense for Lyra to retain as well. I have a feeling we haven’t seen the climax of the Lyra-Paxton storyline, so she probably retains and leans into having Paxton in her corner.
Prediction: Lyra Valkyria
NXT North American Championship Triple Threat Match: Oba Femi (C) vs. Dijak vs. Josh Briggs
Joel: The way that Shawn Michaels has pushed Oba Femi is all the proof you need to know that he’s retaining at Stand & Deliver. To beat established NXT long-comers will only further solidify Oba and eventual catapult him into the main title picture.
Prediction: Oba Femi
Katie: RATIO! Damn right I’m going with Dijak. I know Oba is being pushed to the moon and Josh Briggs is on his solo run… But one can’t deny the popularity Dijak has been building over the last few years. Nowadays we see Dijak signs in the main roster crowds. Going back to NXT did him so well, and I think it’s time to reward him for his hard work. He’s putting others over and having banger after banger. This match will be no different.
Prediction: Dijak
