John Caldone: ‘I’m going to take in the moment, go out there and perform’

Read Time:53 Second

No stranger to the New York MMA scene, John “The Don” Caldone (4-1) gets the call up to the big leagues tonight in a featherweight showcase bout opposite Nathaniel Grimard. A former staple of Triton Fights and Flex Fight Series in Long Island, I sat down with John to discuss the moment and how it feels to make the PFL debut in the mecca of combat sports venues:

“Oh man, being in that atmosphere and looking at the lights, and the big screens where it says ‘PFL’ and all the promos for Burgos vs. Collard. Shane is another guy from New York, a cool dude, seeing him and Clay in the main event made me go, ‘what the hell, where am I’ but I’m here I’m going to take in the moment and perform as best I can.”

PFL 9 takes place inside The Theater at Madison Square Garden. The main card will go down on ESPN and ESPN+ at 9pm ET. The prelims will stream on ESPN+ starting at 6:30pm ET.
