Molly McCann set to meet Ariane Lipski at UFC Greenville

Read Time:1 Minute, 16 Second

UFC announced a flyweight bout between Molly “Meatball” McCann (8-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Ariane “The Violence Queen” Lipski (11-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at UFC Greenville in June.

A former Cage Warriors Strawweight champion, McCann made her UFC debut last year against Gillian Roberson. McCann lost that bout, but bounced back last month to take a blood-guts-win over Priscila Cachoeira at UFC London. Though she came out the victor, the fight left McCann with a gruesome injury.

After what appears to have been a successful operation, the UFC’s first English female fighter is ready to get back to action. Standing across from her will be another former champion.

Born in Brazil, Lipski rose to prominence in Eastern Europe. “The Violence Queen” was the reigning, defending KSW champion when she signed to the UFC last year. Her debut came at UFC Brooklyn in January, where she would lose a unanimous decision to Joanne Calderwood. Before the loss, Lipski was on a nine-fight win streak that included some vicious finishes.

UFC Greenville goes down June 22nd at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. So far, no main event has been announced.
