Mike Tyson releases statment on airplane incident
A representative of Mike Tyson has issued a statement following the viral clip of Tyson punching a passenger on the flight.
In his day, Tyson was constantly in the headlines due to his fierce personality and hothead. Even at this age, the 55-year-old still isn’t shy about putting people in their place.
The 56-fight veteran was recorded punching a fellow passenger consistently on a JetBlue flight before eventually coming to a close. It was later disclosed that the passenger on the flight purposely attempted to antagonize and harass the former boxer.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, some would say. The world of combat sports has been quick to jump to the defence of Tyson, agreeing that the passenger certainly deserved that barrage of punches. Since the incident, his spokesperson has confirmed that Tyson did, in fact, hit the passenger who continued to harass him. Here’s what he had to say.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him and threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat,” a spokesperson for Tyson told ESPN.
Police have attempted to question the victim of the attack but stated the man wasn’t very helpful. For the moment, Tyson hasn’t faced any precautions for his actions. However, still has the backing of combat sports fans across the globe.
What did you make of the incident? Did the passenger deserve it, or did Tyson take it a little far?
