Mike Bailey was the MVP during WrestleMania 38 weekend
WrestleMania weekend is always a fun time for wrestling fans. But one of the most interesting parts of it outside of WrestleMania itself, is what indie promotions will do.
This past weekend was another exciting one for the history books. We saw tons of interesting matches that fans should go out of their way to watch. One name that stood tall during this amazing weekend of wrestling was Mike ‘Speedball’ Bailey…
Mike Bailey had a very exciting and busy WrestleMania weekend, being part of nine matches and with all different kinds of opponents. WrestleMania weekend was his show, anyone who saw indie shows this weekend will tell you that. Bailey is already in the conversation for wrestler of the year because of some of the performances we’ve seen so far from him.
Bailey has always been an interesting wrestler and with all the potential to be a star. Unfortunately he had a 5-year ban to enter the U.S. because he was trying to enter the U.S. while he was in the middle of the visa process. It definitely slowed down Bailey’s rise, but the man is finally free with the purpose of making up for lost time.
Going back to WrestleMania weekend… Bailey had a great run and some of the highlights of his weekend were:
- vs. Yuya Uemura (Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport)
- vs. Davey Richards (WrestleCon USA vs. The World)
- vs. Jay White (NJPW Strong Lonestar)
- vs. Bandido (WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial Super Show)
- vs. Alex Shelley (Impact Multiverse of Matches)
Being the MVP of WrestleMania weekend is not very easy. Wrestlers from all over the world ended up going to Dallas, and the fact there where thousand of events held makes him sticking out even more prominent. What made Bailey stand out were his combinations of Martial Arts and his highflying skillset. He really stepped up his game when all eyes were on pro wrestling.
This weekend was super fun for fans of pro wrestling as a whole. It’s no surprise Mike Bailey is having a fantastic 2022… But him being the MVP of this weekend is just another feather on his cap. There’s no doubt that he’ll be a strong contender for the Pro Wrestler of the Year award.
