Read Time:3 Minute, 20 Second

Legacy Fighting Alliance landed inside Palms Resort Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday March 6 for LFA 203. The event was headlined by an action packed light heavyweight championship fight between Uran Satybaldiev and Leon Soares.

Light Heavyweight Championship

Uran Satybaldiev (C) vs. Leon Soares

The featured main event showcased LFA light heavyweight champion Uran Satybaldiev (8-1). He put his belt on the line against the always-dangerous Brazilian striker Leon Soares (9-3).

These two exciting fighters engaged in an all-out war inside the octagon, exchanging thumping punches. Soares wasted no time closing the distance as the 31-year-old Brazilian came out guns blazing in the opening seconds. Satybaldiev and Soares traded punches in the clinch until the two eventually separated. Both men were throwing caution to the wind while swinging wild punches. They were rocked on their feet in round one, leaving themselves open for massive blows. However, aside from the early storm, Satybaldiev imposed his will on the smaller light heavyweight.

The champion could grab ahold of Soares and control him while providing sufficient ground and pound. Soares showed immense heart in his efforts. He constantly got back to his feet and engaged in a back-and-forth affair with the champion. Satybaldiev ended the first round on the back of Soares, threatening a rear naked choke. Both men were exhausted from the ridiculous pace set in the first round.

Satybaldiev opened the second with a successful takedown in the middle of the cage. The talented Kyrgyzstan champ beat up the Brazilian striker in the first half of this round. Satybaldiev opened a bloody gash on his opponent’s forehead with an emphatic ground and-pound elbow. The tides completely shifted in this round. Soares miraculously rose to his feet. He then began battering the tired champion. Soares went as far as to land a takedown once he realized Satybaldiev’s tiredness. He ended the round in the top position over the champion as he rained heavy elbows on him.

Like in the second round, Satybaldiev came out in the third and scored a takedown on Soares. The champion prioritized position over submission on the ground, which paid off. Satybaldiev flowed on the ground, going into side control. There, he finally secured a tight Kimura on Soares.

Result: Uran Satybaldiev via 3rd-Round Submission (Kimura)

Sharaf Davlatmurodov vs. Christiano Frohlich

The co-main event of LFA 203 featured a three-round middleweight clash between Tajikistan’s Shara Davlatmurodov (20-5-1) and Brazil’s Christiano Frohlich (11-7), who stepped in on ten days’ notice.

Davlatmurodov opened with sharp kickboxing, picking his shots and landing flush. Midway through the first round, he connected with a clubbing right hand before securing a well-timed takedown. From there, he controlled Frohlich and peppered him with ground-and-pound.

The second round played out similarly. Davlatmurodov chipped away with kicks before securing another takedown, methodically working into a dominant position. Frohlich responded with slicing elbows from his back, but Davlatmurodov remained in control, though his offense lacked urgency. Late in the round, Frohlich worked his way to the cage and exploded to his feet, only to be taken down again moments later.

By the third round, Davlatmurodov’s early energy had faded. His takedown attempts became labored, allowing Frohlich to sprawl and threaten chokes. However, a miscalculated submission attempt cost the Brazilian his position, and Davlatmurodov returned to top control. Referee Mike Beltran stood them up due to inactivity, but Davlatmurodov’s relentless grappling continued, securing takedowns until the final bell.

Result: Sharaf Davlatmurodov via Unanimous Decision (30-27 x2, 29-28)
