Kyle “Gunz Up” Stewart is set to face Erik Koch at UFC 240 on Saturday, July 27th in Rogers Place.

Stewart is (11-2) in his professional MMA career, and will be looking to bounce back from a loss in his UFC debut. Stewart fell to Chance Rencountre via submission. Stewart, a United States Marine, has a solid stand up game which earned him a contract from Dana White’s Contender Series. He will be looking to show more of his skill set and bounce back strong against a formidable opponent in Erik Koch.

Koch has been in the UFC since 2011, and has fought the likes of some of UFC’s best. He has battled with fighters such as Raphael Assuncao, Ricardo Lamas, Dustin Poirier, and Clay Guida. While he has faced some top competition, Koch has not been very active in recent years. He did not fight in 2015, and since 2016 has fought once a year. Koch last won back in 2016 and will look to change his losing streak when the UFC returns to Canada.

The “New Breed” moves up to welterweight against Stewart who will have a 4.5” reach advantage and a 4” height advantage. Both fighters tend to prefer the stand-up game, which could make for an exciting fight between two men who like to throw hands.
