King of the East match scrapped for Bellator 232, Patrick Mix targeted to face new opponent
The bantamweight scrap between Dominic Mazzotta and Patrick Mix scheduled for Bellator 232 is officially cancelled.
With a little over a week left until the October 26th show, the search is on for a new opponent. Rumour has it “The Honey Badger” suffered an injury and that Isaiah Chapman (9-3-0) may be on deck to take Mazzotta’s spot.
Chapman is on a 3-fight win streak. The Ohio fighter’s last 3 bouts have been with the Honour FC promotion.
The undefeated Mix (11-0-0) was set to take on Mazzotta (15-3-0) in Uncasville, Connecticut. Mazzotta’s coach, Isaac Greely, previously mentioned to The Scrap this match up would show who is the real King of the East was. He said the bout would determine who would emerge as a top contender for Bellator.
Michael Lyubimov, General Manager of Jackson Wink MMA Academy where Mix trains, described him as “a very talented young man and one of the hardest workers at the gym”.
