An important middleweight bout has been set for UFC 241.

Ian Heinisch (13-1 MMA) vs Derek Brunson (19-7 MMA) will take place inside the Honda Center on August 17.

“The Hurricane” recently cracked the top-15 with a #11 ranking after his win over Antonio Carlos Junior at UFC Rochester. He’s currently on a 5-fight win streak after wins over game opponents, Justin Sumter and Cezar Ferreira. After climbing the ranks in only two UFC fights, Heinisch looks to continue this momentum into his bout with Brunson this summer.

His opponent, Derek Brunson, is ranked #9 in the division and looks to continue his winning ways after a unanimous decision win over Elias Theodorou in enemy territory. Prior to UFC Ottawa, Brunson had back-to-back losses to Jacare Souza and the interim middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya.

UFC 241 is headlined by a heavyweight rematch, Daniel Cormier puts his heavyweight championship on the line against Stipe Miocic.
