Ian Heinisch: ‘I’m gonna become a diamond’ at UFC 245 (VIDEO)
Ian Heinisch learned a lot about himself in his recent fight with Derek Brunson. Although his pay-per-view main card debut at UFC 245 didn’t go his way, “The Hurricane” realized he needs to deal with pressure in a different way.
Heinisch spoke with The Scrap about his upcoming fight with Omari Ahkmedov next Saturday at UFC 245. The event takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will feature three title fights — including the main event between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington for the UFC welterweight title.
The Factory X trained Heinisch discusses working with Nate Marquardt in preparation for the fight, why it has become important to feel less pressure and have more fun in his fights, his conversation with teammate, and recent opponent of Ahkmedov, Zak Cummings after getting the matchup, how he sees the fight playing out, seeing his team’s up and coming fighters creating highlight reels, thoughts on Yoel Romero being discussed to fight Israel Adesanya following back-to-back losses, teammate Devonte Smith’s recent knee surgery, and much more.
Check out the full conversation with Ian Heinisch as he prepares to face Omari Ahkmedov next weekend at UFC 245 in the video below.
