George Lockhart previews UFC 309: Jones vs. Miocic
In the latest edition of our Main Event Preview, we cover the upcoming fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. This time, we are joined by trainer, nutritionist and former fighter, George Lockhart. George is currently working with top heavyweight boxer, Joseph Parker, ahead of his next fight. While working together, they recently made their way over to the United States. There, they made a stop to help Jon Jones prepare for what could be his last fight ever. Naturally, this caught our eye, and so we are excited to have George’s insight for this breakdown.
Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic will go at it on Saturday, November 16th. Will it be a retirement fight for both legends? We shall see. Regardless, Jones has been labeled by many as the greatest fighter in UFC history. On the other hand, Miocic has been referred to as the greatest heavyweight in UFC history. Both men are coming off extended layoffs, especially Stipe, who we have not seen since UFC 260 in 2021. Whether you prefer the matchup or not, try to enjoy and appreciate both men. They have contributed so much to the sport, and deserve all their flowers before they hang up the gloves for good.
George discusses the stylistic matchup, and how Jon Jones’ mindset makes him special. We get a peek behind the curtain and briefly discuss the avengers line-up Jon has brought into his fight camp. Lockhard also gives his final predictions and how he sees the fight going. Make sure you tune into the stacked UFC 309 card this Saturday. It all goes down inside the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City.
