Former Bellator champ Hector Lombard to debut at BKFC 10 against David Mundell
Hector “Showeather” Lombard (34-10-1) will face David “Redneck” Mundell (10-5-0) in the main event at BKFC 10 on February 15 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The event will take place at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center.
Hector Lombard History
Forty-two-year-old Lombard signed with BKFC in October last year and will be debuting in this fight. He is the first Bellator champion to sign with the organization as well as the first-ever Olympian. Lombard represented Cuba in Judo at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.
“Showeather” competed as a middleweight in the UFC and last fought in September 2018 when he lost via unanimous decision to Thales Leites at UFC Fight Night in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Lombard was scheduled to face fellow MMA veteran Joe Riggs in the main event of BKFC 10, but Riggs withdrew due to an injury.
David Mundell Tale of the Tape
This will be David “Redneck” Mundell’s third fight with BKFC. He has been successful in both of his fights with the organization beating Ronnie Forney and Drew Lipton in a quick first round KO’s. The 28-year-old has fought in several promotions including Bellator, Titan FC, Cage Fury FC, and M-1 Global. “Redneck” usually fights as a welterweight but has agreed to meet Lombard at middleweight for the fight. Along with not having to cut weight, Mundell also has a 4” reach advantage over Lombard.
BKFC 10
Also fighting on the card will be Dat Nguyen vs. Abdiel Velazquez, Elvin Leon Brito vs. Luis Palomino and in the co-main event UFC vet, Jim Alers will fight Kaleb Harris.
BKFC 10 will be broadcast across North America, exclusively on pay-per-view through MultiVision Media, Inc., on all major television distribution outlets for $29.99. It will also be available to BKFC’s international broadcast partners through FITE.
