Eryk Anders believes cancellations should serve as a lesson to young fighters

Like a lot of other fighters, Eryk Anders was preparing to fight in the coming weeks. With the Covid-19 pandemic rearing its ugly head, Anders’ scheduled fight with Krzysztof Jotko — along with the entire UFC Portland event on April 11 — was cancelled.

“Ya Boi”, as all fighters do, hopes that he will receive compensation from the promotion for his scheduled fight. If that doesn’t happen, Anders tells The Scrap that he will be just fine and it could serve as a lesson for other fighters coming up in the game, or are in the UFC.

On Wednesday, Anders joined The Scrap to discuss how he reacted to the bout being cancelled, why he’s not too worried about it, why this pandemic cancelling events should be a lesson to the young, up and coming fighters in the sport of MMA, thoughts on the UFC 248 main event between Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero, Tom Brady leaving the New England Patriots to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and more.
