Conor McGregor announces return vs. Michael Chandler on International Fight Week
It looks like the fight we thought would never happen is finally going down during International Fight Week in 2024. There had been skepticism around the booking of Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler, but will apparently happen middleweight. International Fight Week card is set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 29th.
Despite coaching against one another on The Ultimate Fighter 31, an official fight day has yet to be announced. While middleweight might seem odd at first glance, there was some back and forth on TUF about the fight between the two being at 185 lbs. This is where McGregor tautned Chandler in saying “You’ll do what you’re told.” In a post to social media, McGregor annouces that the “greatest comeback of all time” is on the horizon. However, the UFC has not yet publicly commented on that proposal.
Chandler would end up responding to the news on X, writing, “I always said I wantded you at your biggest, you baddest and your best. 185 would look good on me.” The official weight class for the fight is just another interesting storyline to this building rivalry.
