Read Time:2 Minute, 4 Second

After 2,763 days, CM Punk finally made his triumphant return to Pro Wrestling. Punk debuted to a sold out United Center for AEW. The wrestling world stopped and embraced CM Punk with love for his return, it was an emotional moment that will always be remembered.

CM Punk with his now infamous pipe-bomb promo was one of the first steps that would lead to the genesis of AEW. AEW and Punk have been linked to one another for many years and to finally see that happen felt special. When AEW first started, CM Punk was one of the names Tony Khan (Owner and Booker of AEW) on his list of wrestlers Khan wanted for the promotion. But it was not the case, and we had to wait a few more years.

August 20, or like some wrestling fans called it, “CM Punk Day” was special in so many ways. The excitement was in the air, everyone was tweeting about Punk and remembering all the great moments of his career. His AEW debut was the worst kept secret ever, but it worked to the promotion’s favor.

The Elite, Moxley and Chris Jericho were the jewels of the AEW crown, and the missing one was Punk. Now the set is finally complete. Some people had this idea that if AEW never signed Punk, it would be considered a failure, but that debate is over.

CM Punk and Darby Allin is the right first program for Punk. It puts a major spotlight on one of AEW’s brightest young stars. As Punk’s first match in 7 years, it helps Punk big time. Allin will bump for Punk and be the one to lead the match on ALL OUT.

Punk has so much ahead of him in AEW. Many cool matches and programs. From matches with established wrestlers like Kenny Omega, to the young stars of AEW like MJF. All wrestling fans can’t wait to see all the content for Punk coming in the future.

AEW with this signing has created an all-time great moment and getting one step closer to WWE. They had the spotlight of wrestling once more and delivered big time. New fans of the product were created on this special episode of Rampage, without a doubt.

The future looks bright for AEW and pro wrestling as a whole. There’s no better time to be a wrestling fan than right now.
