Cesar Gracie teases Nick Diaz return by end of 2022

Fan favorite Nick Diaz could be set to make another return to competition by the end of 2022.

Despite being out of the game for over six years, the former Strikeforce champion remains a huge draw in the sport. Diaz made his highly anticipated return in September of 2021 with a rematch with Robbie Lawler at UFC 266.

Many had different views on the Stockton native’s performance on the night, with the fight ending feeling out of character for Diaz. The 38-year-old didn’t return to his feet after hitting the mat after a combination from Lawler. All things considered, Diaz displayed the famous slick boxing that earned him a massive fan base in the past and did look clean with his striking in some moments.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu coach, Cesar Gracie, took to Instagram to tease a return for Diaz.

Cesar Gracie Teases Nick Diaz Return

It’s unknown the next logical move for Nick Diaz and the UFC. It’s clear Diaz will not be fighting top contenders at this stage of his career, as demonstrated in his most recent fight with Robbie Lawler last year. However, some fun, winnable matchups are still out there for him.

Many have touted Diaz to take on fellow veteran Donald Cerrone, with “Cowboy” being at the dying stages of his career. Cerrone hasn’t been in action since May of 2021 when Alex Morono defeated him in round one.

Others have called for Diaz to avenge his younger brother’s loss to Jorge Masvidal. Masvidal, who is higher up in the pecking order, is coming off a tough loss to a former friend turned rival, Colby Covington.

Who would you like Nick Diaz to face upon his UFC return?
