BREAKING: More details on TUF 31, potential theme for the season revealed
There is so much speculation around the new season of The Ultimate Fighter ever since Conor McGregor & Tony Ferguson confirmed they were offered the coaching positions. Though that is still not confirmed, we do know the weight classes that are going to be featured.
According to sources, the theme for TUF 31 is going to be something of former UFC fighters vs. New Blood. The last true themed Ultimate Fighter was back in 2017, when they did The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption. Coached by TJ Dillashaw & Cody Garbrandt, the twenty-fifth season saw producers bring back previous participants from past seasons.
If the former UFC fighters vs. New Blood concept is true, it seems like the perfect idea to revitalize the TUF brand. Since the pandemic, we’ve seen plenty of fighters debut in the UFC on short notice and then get cut two fights later. Based on rumblings around casting, some of the fighters on TUF 31 fall into that category. Seemingly, they’ll have to fight their way back into the organization if they want a second chance.
