Best of ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry on social media leading up to UFC Ft. Lauderdale

Read Time:2 Minute, 57 Second

UFC welterweight Mike Perry has been pretty active on social media, in the lead-up to UFC Ft. Lauderdale on April 27. In this article, we’ll take a look at some of his most shining moments lately, between Tweets, Instagram posts and a whole lot of sparring footage.

On March 27th, shortly after the fight was announced, Perry posted a picture to Instagram. The picture featured himself (left) and his opponent, Cowboy Oliveira, on the right.

Clearly, Platinum Perry is very excited about his upcoming fight with Cowboy Oliveira. It seems like this match-up really excites him.

The same day, he posted another picture of him and his opponent, promoting the fight.

I think the biggest takeaway from this post was Platinum using his infamous line, “Mfs Gonna Bleed and Somebody Might Die!”

That line is pure gold. Having read it, I’m that much more excited for this fight!

During the build-up to this fight, Platinum has posted a TON of sparring footage to his Instagram page. He has posted clips of him practicing his wrestling, which is good to see. In one clip, there’s a photo of him taking a guy down. Go to his Instagram page and check it out.

He has also posted numerous sparring videos where he is putting his striking on showcase.

In a recent clip, Perry is shown sparring on a beach with his fiancee and trainer, Danielle Nickerson. Looks like they are getting to work because Perry was looking sharp.

In another of the most recent posts, Perry is seen on the mat, with somebody’s arm tucked under his right leg. It appears as though they were doing some kind of Jiu-Jitsu training. While in the submission hold, Perry posed for the camera, with his left hand underneath his head, as if he were going to sleep.

The clip more or less said, ‘yeah we’ve been running submission defense drills all day, EASY WORK.’

Perry didn’t actually say that but that’s what I got from it anyways.

And it’s good to see that he’s going hard training submission defense because he’s going to need it against Oliveira.

In another recent post, Platinum took a picture with one-half of the main event headliner for UFC Ft. Lauderdale. Mike Perry and Jacare Souza are seen standing next to one another, smiling.

I’ll say one thing about this, if Perry has been training with Jacare for this fight, he’s in good shape. Jacare is a top notch fighter.

Perry recently tweeted this. It seems like Perry is really embracing it all in this build-up. If I had to guess, this tweet sounds like it’s referencing the fans belief in Oliveira. I could imagine that many fans are counting him out of this fight because fans often jump on and off bandwagons when their fighters lose. And it seems like Perry is considering that here. While also stating that he’s worked and is still working very hard in preparation for this and wants fans to respect his work.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens on Saturday night at UFC Ft. Lauderdale.
