Alexandre Pantoja’s Coach Lu Mäcãrrão previews UFC 301
Alexandre Pantoja rose to MMA prominence when he defeated Brandon Moreno and became the UFC Flyweight Champion back in July. Since then, he has established himself as a true champion of the flyweights after securing his first title defense against Brandon Royal. Pantoja now faces a new threat to his throne in his second title defense at UFC 301. Steve Erceg has emerged as the next man up to face the champ. Though many feel it’s too early, Erceg certainly has all the tools necessary to make this a great fight.
As we approach UFC 301 in Brazil, we caught up with fellow Brazilian and professional fighter coach at American Top Team, Lu Mäcãrrão. Lu has operated as Pantoja’s Muay Thai coach for several years and has worked closely with the UFC Featherweight Champion. We previewed the main event of UFC 301, where Alexandre Pantoja will defend his 125-pound strap against Steve Erceg.
We discuss the shock of Pantoja fighting the #10-ranked contender, how the fight will play out, and so much more. If you’re a die-hard fan of the sport, you’ll appreciate hearing from a fighter or coach ahead of a big fight. Especially one as close to the champion as Lu… UFC 301 goes down this Saturday, May 4th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. You definitely don’t want to miss this main event.
