AEW Revolution 2025: How To Watch, Card Preview & Predictions
After a build that has felt elongated, All Elite Wrestling returns to PPV with AEW Revolution.
The event will take place at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena and, on paper, is one of the most stacked cards in the company’s history. For the first time, the pay-per-view will be available for purchase on Prime Video, alongside PPV.com, Triller TV, and YouTube. The action kicks off at 7 PM ET.
Headlining is an AEW World Championship match between challenger Cope and champion Jon Moxley. The build for this match has been criticized. But, strong storytelling elsewhere has prevented this from leaving a mark on the show as a whole. The card though is the definition of all-killer-no-filler, and has the potential to create a spark for the promotion.
AEW World Championship
Jon Moxley (C) vs. Cope
The battle between the Death Riders and AEW has been a repetitive one to say the least. With the former Adam Copeland leading the charge and claiming his title shot back in December, fans are ready for a new foe for Moxley and his crew in the coming weeks.
Moxley choking out Copeland in the Brisbane Brawl Tag Team Match at Grand Slam Australia seemed like a curious decision at first. But in recent weeks, it has started to make sense… Copeland must find a way to get Moxley one-on-one. Since shifting in this direction from the weeks of endless beatdowns, things have improved. Cope removed PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, and Marina Shafir from the equation with a series of con-chair-tos. The latter with an assist from Willow Nightingale. This has left him with just Moxley, and his opponent this past Wednesday on Dynamite, Wheeler Yuta.
Instead of taking Yuta out the traditional way, Copeland chose to show him respect, hoping to talk him away from Moxley’s side. If he has successfully done this, Moxley is now alone. The common consensus seems to be that Copeland will be screwed here. Could it be by Yuta? How about ally Jay White? Maybe a former tag partner of Cope’s that also has claim to a title match perhaps? Only time will tell.
Prediction: Jon Moxley
AEW Women’s Championship
‘Timeless’ Toni Storm (C) vs. Mariah May
A Hollywood ending is in store as Toni Storm defends her AEW Women’s Championship, just 13 miles away from Warner Bros Studios. Her opponent is fan-turned-friend-turned-arch nemesis Mariah May, as they close their seventeen-month story under the brightest of lights.
May is attempting to reclaim the championship which she lost back to Storm at Grand Slam Australia. To do this, she has somehow turned the violence up to another level in recent weeks. If you are not a fan of blood, I suggest you look away during this one.
We even saw the two come to blows on the red carpet at the Queen of the Ring premiere, with Mariah taking the opportunity to make a statement, just days before the match.
Prediction: ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm
Steel Cage Match
Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher
Storm vs. May is not the only match between friends-turned-enemies that will be taking place. Will Ospreay will get Kyle Fletcher one-on-one, with the Don Callis family firmly locked on the outside of a steel cage.
The pair have been feuding for six months and it has done an incredible job of elevating Fletcher into a legitimate big match player. Everything he does of late has superstar aura, and he feels more important by the week. Even with a loss here to end the feud, it will be very interesting to see where Fletcher can take the momentum he has gained.
This is the third match between the pair on successive pay-per-view events, a rarity in AEW. It doesn’t really feel stale though, despite this. They have done an effective job at consistently building the tension to the point where the Steel Cage feels appropriate. As two of the best bell-to-bell wrestlers on the planet, it will be interesting to see them inside a cage. This is a completely new environment for both men.
Prediction: Will Ospreay
MJF vs. Hangman Page
Arguably the most anticipated match on the card is a clash between the two central figures in AEW’s six-year history. Their respective histories in the company have been key in the storytelling between the two, which despite only being a few weeks old, might be the hottest story going into Revolution.
The two first faced off for the inaugural Dynamite Diamond Ring in 2019. Since then, they have only crossed paths in the 2020 Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal and a tag match honoring Brodie Lee. The rarity of their encounters, despite being the two non-EVP wrestlers most synonymous with the company, only heightens fans’ anticipation.
MJF believes Hangman can do no wrong in the fans’ eyes—a luxury he feels he doesn’t have. To prove his point, he set Page on fire, mirroring Hangman’s actions toward Swerve Strickland’s house. Before that, he attacked the recently retired Christopher Daniels, a man Hangman had brutalized in the ring, ending his career, yet still respected. In MJF’s mind, these actions expose the double standards favoring Hangman while also proving himself to be ‘real.’ His need for authenticity, combined with the crowd’s unwavering support for Hangman, has fueled his actions.
I do not think the feud will end here. I think it is a big match for Double or Nothing too, where the winner could end up using this main character status to step up to Jon Moxley and defend AEW.
Prediction: MJF
