Wednesday Night Wars: AEW Dynamite Week 21 Review

Read Time:2 Minute, 34 Second

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite took place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The crowd, in a similar fashion to other crowds, was electric for everything AEW had to offer them.

This episode was once again not only a near-perfect episode of AEW Dynamite, but of pro-wrestling. Everything was a home run for AEW.

The Young Bucks won the Tag Team Battle Royal

This tag-team battle royal was really fun and had a lot of cool and funny moments in it. Every tag team had their moment to shine in the spotlight. One of the best spots of this match and of the night was the superkick that Matt Jackson gave to Sammy Guevara who was trying to help Ortiz and Santana.

With this victory, The Young Bucks will face The winner of the tag team championship match at Revolution.

Kris Statlander def. Shanna

This was a very good match between Statlander and Shanna. Both wrestlers gave a good performance. Shanna on this match was the highlight with her moves and some references she made to Dragon Ball Z.

AEW right now is doing a great job on the booking of their women’s division.

Tony Schiavone interviews new AEW women’s champion, Nyla Rose

The current AEW women’s champion Nyla Rose made a really good heel promo and bragging about her victory over Riho from the week prior. Kris Statlander and Big Swole came out and confronted Rose and they are going to be the next challengers for the new champion.

Jon Moxley def. Jeff Cobb

This match was very good and better even than their match from last year’s G1 Climax. Jeff Cobb during this match looked like a monster. After the match ended Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, and Jake Hager attacked Moxley. But Darby Allin and Dustin Rhodes made the save and confronted Guevara and Hager respectively.

During commercials, Allin used some very entertaining cardboard cards challenging Guevara to a match.

Kenny Omega and Hangman Page def. Lucha Bros

This match was incredible. Both teams were amazing during this match. This shouldn’t be surprising considering this match included four of the most talented wrestlers in the world.  This match is with no doubts the best TV match of 2020 in all wrestling, but also a match of the year contender.

After the match ended, The Young Bucks appeared to congratulate Omega and Page.

Steel Cage match: Cody (with Arn Anderson and Brandi Rhodes) def. Wardlow (with MJF)

This steel cage match was really good and had a lot of storytelling points. Cody did a wonderful job of making Wardlow look like a million bucks and sold for him a lot. Cody won this match with a spectacular moonsault from the top of the steel cage.

With this victory, Cody will face MJF at the upcoming Revolution pay-per-view.

Rating

Another perfect episode of AEW Dynamite. Everything worked and everybody looked like a star during the show.

The match of the night was easily the tag team championship match that was just on another level.

Rating: A+
