AEW & A Case For Madrid

As AEW expands and hosts shows outside of the U.S. borders, there are several interesting places they could host events going forward. One of those countries, is Spain. It makes perfect sense for AEW to host a show at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The most obvious reason why, would be logistics. Traveling to the stadium is actually very easy to do. There’s a subway stop that’s just outside of the stadium, and you can also get to the stadium by bus.
A big reason why AEW should host All In at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is for legacy. When people think of pro wrestling and Wembley, they don’t think of AEW. They go back to WWE and SummerSlam 1992. The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium has never hosted a wrestling show, AEW beating WWE by hosting a show at one of the most iconic football stadiums is the type of statement Tony Khan likes to say he wants to do. AEW would be associated to the Bernabéu the same way WWE is associated with Wembley.
It looks like WWE wants to host a major show at Wembley again. It’s likely that event will be WrestleMania. So, finding a new home for European events would make the most sense. As mentioned before, the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium makes sense. The stadium has finished its renovations and for many, it’s considered the best stadium in Europe possibly one of the best in the world. Having a show there would undoubtedly rise the stock of AEW.
For now, we know AEW has plans for shows in Japan, and possibly Australia. Considering Shahid Khan’s connection with the city of London, being owner of Fulham, it makes sense that next year’s All In would once again take place at Wembley. Besides Spain, Mexico is an option that should consider soon; especially now that they have a working relationship with CMLL.
