The Scrap’s 2020 Regional Card of the Year: Cage Warriors 119
Although there weren’t as many regional shows put on last year, there were a ton of high quality cards that were able to happen at once after things started to open up again. Whether you see that as a negative or a positive, one thing is for sure, 2020 had some of the best regional cards ever put on.
First and formost, if we could have just added the triology as one card, we would have. All cards from Cage Warriors were absolutely fire last year. However, Cage Warriors 119 stood out from the rest of them.
The prelims were headline by future star Will Currie, who walked away with a unanimous decision win over Dario Bellandi. “The Future” Ian Garry fought and was able to get the first-round finish over an experienced Lawrence Tracey, further solidying Garry into the spotlight where he belongs. The fight between Jordan Vucenic and Paul Hughes was an absolute banger, where it could have gone either way. The fight surely proved the up and coming 145ers are a bunch of savages.

Then came the main event title fights. First Agy Sardari was able to claim the vacant lightweight championship against Jack Grant. Then, Morgan Charriere headlined the card, walking away with the vacant featherweight championship over Perry Andre Goodwin after a third-round body shot that ended the fight.
It was for sure a night to remember, earning The Scrap’s inaugural Regional Card of the Year. An award that is very much deserved for the Cage Warriors promotion.
Honorable Mentions: CFFC 91, Invicta FC 39 and LFA 90.
