VIDEO: Jas Jasudavicius expects another finish en route to CFFC title
Jas Jasudavicius is one of the hottest MMA prospects in the game right now. Currently 4-0, she will look for her fifth professional win when she meets Elise Reed on August 13 for the vacant CFFC strawweight title.
Jasudavicius is coming off a first one finish over Gabriella Gulfin at CFFC 81 in February of this year. This was another impressive victory for the Canadian who keeps rolling along with her third finish in four fights.
“We had a striking exchange and I landed an elbow and I saw that it shook her up a little bit,” Jasudavicius explained how the fight ended, “I smelled the blood and continued with a couple punches and she went for a desperation shot and I just kind of got out of the way, got the angle, and knees to the body and the ref called it.”
Jasudavicius seems to be on a fast track for the UFC. We asked the rising star where she feels she is right now as far as garnering the UFC’s attention and what she hopes happens next. “The last three girls that have held this title have gone straight to the UFC after so I am hoping I won’t even have to do the contender series route and just get a straight-up contract, but we will see. I am open for anything. Right now I am just focused on this fight and after this fight then I’ll be able to focus on what is next but ideally a contract would be nice.”
Jasudavicius knows that this title fight will not be an easy one. She is preparing for a tough fight but that doesn’t affect her confidence leading up to fight night.
“[Reed] is 1-0 as a pro but she went 9-0 as an amateur so she does have more experience than me overall but I’m looking forward to getting another finish, I think.”
