James Krause didn’t think short notice step-in ‘was that big a deal’ (VIDEO)

It’s rare that a fighter receives such unanimous praise following a loss, but James Krause didn’t do anything that should be considered ordinary last weekend at UFC 247. Unless you ask Krause, himself.

Krause stepped in on a little over a day’s notice, and up a weight class, to fight Trevin Giles after Antonio Arroyo was forced to withdraw following the official weigh-ins for the event. Krause fought admirably but ultimately lost a split decision to the Houston native.

On Tuesday, KrauseΒ joined The ScrapΒ to discuss why he didn’t think stepping in like that was that big of a deal, believing he won the fight, the one judge who gave Giles the first round, how the MMA community has showered him with praise, getting right back to coaching, and much more.
