Wednesday Night Wars: AEW Dynamite Week 18 Review
This week’s episode of Dynamite took place at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The show started with a very good promo from Jon Moxley talking about with victory from last week. Moxley and The Inner Circle had a back and forth, fun segment.
Matches & Segments
A very interesting backstage segment between MJF with Wardlow and The Butcher, The Bunny and The Blade.
The Young Bucks defeated BBB in a very good match. This bout had great chemistry between both teams. MJF was on commentary table during this match and did a phenomenal job. After the match, BBB attacked The Bucks but Kenny Omega and Adam Page came out to make the safe.
Nyla Rose defeated Big Swole in a good match. Nyla Rose looked great during this bout. It seems that Nyla Rose will be the next challenger for Riho and her AEW Women’s Championship.
Cody with Arn Anderson defeated Kip Sabian with Penelope Ford. This match had a lot of shananigans with the managers, especially from Ford. This bout had fun moment, but ultimately was just okay.
Britt Baker cut a promo on Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone. This promo was good and a big improvement from last week’s promo. Turning Britt Baker heel was a good idea.
SCU defeated Hybrid 2. During their entrance, SCU wore Lakers shirts paying tribute to Kobe Bryant. This match was fun and with a lot of double team moves. After the SCU and Hybrid 2 match, The Dark Order made a promo threatening SCU.
Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks made promos backstage. Adam Page appeared and taunted The Bucks. This was a really good segment.
PAC had an amazing video promo talking about Moxley, but most importantly he talked about his current feud with Kenny Omega.
The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Ortiz and Santana) defeated Darby Allin and Private Party. This match was great and had a lot of cool spots. After the match ended, The Inner Circle attacked Private Party and Allin. Jon Moxley came out and made the safe.
For next week, AEW announced the next matches:
- Jon Moxley vs. Ortiz
- Yuka Sakazaki vs. Britt Baker
- The Elite & Page vs. The Butcher, The Blade & Lucha Bros
- Also Cody will receive ten lashes from MJF.
Rating
This episode was good, but not as good as the other weeks. The crowd during the show was great and did not disappoint. The match of the night was the main event between Private Party & Allin vs. The Inner Circle.
Rating: B
