Patrick Mix gets the submission win at RIZIN 20
Bellator fighter Patchy Mix (13-0-0) started celebrating the New Year early with a win over Yuki Motoya (23-8-0) at RIZIN 20 in Saitama, Japan.
“No Love”, a bantamweight, took the DEEP flyweight champion out in round 1 with a guillotine choke on December 31. Motoya was close to getting an armbar submission early in the round; however, Mix managed to escape and take hold of the RIZIN fighter’s neck.

At the 96 second mark Motoya tapped out and Mix added another submission to his resume.
After a long career with King of the Cage, Mix began fighting for Bellator in June 2019. In his debut match, he choked out Ricky Bandejas in 66 just seconds. At Bellator 232, he finished Isaiah Chapman in another first-round finish.

In an interview prior to the event, Michael Lyubimov, General Manager at the gym spoke of this fight as being a really big opportunity for everyone involved. The Bellator bantamweight championship is currently vacant and with this win, Mix could be a contender for the title.
We will have to see what the new year brings for Bellator submission master, Patchy Mix.
