Wednesday Night Wars: AEW Dynamite Week 8 Review

Read Time:2 Minute, 9 Second

The 8th episode of AEW Dynamite took place in Indianapolis, Indiana inside the Farmers Coliseum. Dynamite was again another great episode with a lot of things that made this a must-see wrestling show.

As usual, the crowd was an important factor for this show, and they were hot for everything AEW had to offer them.

Match of the Night

All the matches on this card were really good. The Battle Royal was unique and had fun spots like the surprise appearance of Billy Gunn and the awesome heel work from MJF; Proud N Powerful vs. Private Party was a good tag team match and a nice tribute to Matt Travis; Shida vs. Baker was a solid match and the best TV performance for Baker; The main event between Moxely and Darby was an incredible match that ended with an awesome avalanche Paradigm Shift.

But, the match of the night was Nick Jackson vs. Rey Fenix in an out of this world singles match.

All the matches delivered big time, but the only negative in this department was an issue in the Proud N Powerful vs. Private Party in a pin which took away from their match.

Segments, Promos & Vignettes

Last week was a promo-heavy show, but this week had less promos and segments. The ones we did get, were really good. The Dark Order had commercial to recruit people into their group. Kenny Omega had short and comedic vignette about his match against PAC for next week.

The Promo or segment of the night, was with no doubts, the confrontation between SCU and The Inner Circle. Jericho made a great heel promo and Scorpio Sky made an amazing babyface promo, using reverse psychology to get a title match for next week.

Rating

The show was amazing and fun. All the matches were good and the feuds we know of had mini stories to tell, especially during the Battle Royal. All the matches were must see and have fun spots to check out.

The women’s match of this week was really good, and Baker had her best performance. It also seems Shida is being set up as Riho’s next challenger.

The only negative of this show was the ref botch during the tag match mentioned above, being the second time it has happened on AEW Dynamite.
