The Scrap had a chance to speak with UFC bantamweight, Andre Ewell, about his Greenville dance, his upcoming fight on October 12, and his road to the UFC.

Andre Ewell “let the world know he was here to conquer” in 2018 when he beat Renan Barão at UFC Fight Night 137 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Recently, he showed off his dancing skills after his win against Anderson dos Santos at UFC Greenville on June 22.

Ewell won the fight via unanimous decision. The 15-5-0 bantamweight admitted he loves fighting, but he also loves dancing. “If I ain’t dancing, I’m moving and if I ain’t moving I’m dancing”. Dancing shows up in his fighting style, through his footwork and slipping.

The Apex MMA fighter intends to be dancing in the ring again on October 12 when he meets Marlon “Chito” Vera (16-5-1) at UFC in Tampa, Florida.

Starting off with Taekwondo, wrestling, and boxing at the age of 7. For the 31-year-old, these skills came in handy. As a kid, Ewell moved around a lot and “always found the bully”. He discovered he was really good in combat sports and said he pushed harder to become even better.

Today, not only is Andre fighting because he loves the sport, he fights for his son Eli Edward Ewell. “My whole MMA career is basically based off of me trying to jump back in his life,” said Ewell.

“Mr. Highlight” signed with Dodge Sports a little over a year ago and intends to keep dancing his way to the top of the UFC bantamweight division.
