Brendan Loughnane vs. Bill Algeo set for Contender Series main event
Brendan Loughnane (16-3) is set to make his UFC return when he gets his shot at a contract on the first episode of the 2019 Contender Series. The fight takes place on June 18 inside the TUF Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Manchester’s Loughnane is heading into the bout on a two-fight win streak with wins over Paata Tsxapelia and Amaury Junior. Loughnane is facing Bill Algeo who holds a record of 12 wins and 3 losses. Algeo is currently on a four-fight win streak, adding names like Scott Heckman, James Gonzalez, and John de Jesus to his resume.
Loughnane’s journey has not been easy. He has won 11 of his 13 fights since being released by the UFC and has spent time training in California with former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. After winning the featherweight belt at Celtic Gladiator 22, Brendan hopes to earn his way back into the UFC with a quick win over Pennsylvania’s Algeo.
