BREAKING: Wisconsin’s Alex Gilpin is The Scrap’s first sponsored fighter
Since The Scrap’s inception, the mission has always been to become the go-to source for MMA and Pro Wrestling news. Since, we’ve evolved. The Scrap is committed to sponsoring fighters, changing the game of combat sports journalism and its involvement in the sport.
We’re excited to announce that we are sponsoring Alex Gilpin as he prepares for his next fight at PFL 2 in Long Island, New York.
Gilpin is a former Texas state champion wrestler who went on to compete for the University of Wisconsin. Since transitioning to MMA, Gilpin has an impressive 12-1 record, including a win on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in August 2018.
Alex is our first official sponsored fighter at The Scrap, he will be making his PFL debut on ESPN+ in the promotion’s featherweight division. At 26 years old, Gilpin is young and hungry for his first world title. He faces the reigning PFL featherweight champion, Lance Palmer in the main event on May 23.
Make sure to check back throughout the second season of PFL as we cover every event on TheScrap.co. We look forward to following Alex’s MMA journey, supporting him throughout his career.
