Read Time:5 Minute, 31 Second

The world of professional wrestling is about to welcome a new era of talent with WWE’s newest show, WWE LFG, premiering on A&E. This groundbreaking series provides an inside look at what it truly takes to make it in WWE. It also features legendary mentors guiding the next generation of superstars vying for a WWE NXT contract.

Helmed by WWE executives and Hall of Famers Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Shawn Michaels, LFG boasts a stacked coaching lineup. It includes The Undertaker, Booker T, Mickie James, and Bubba Ray Dudley. Each week, these industry veterans will mentor a group of aspiring wrestlers. They will offer invaluable guidance on both in-ring performance and the all-important mic skills. With their wealth of experience, they will shape the future of WWE one match at a time.

Season 1, Episode 2: ‘Legendary Teams’

The second episode, Legendary Teams, aired on February 23, 2025, at 8:00PM ET on A&E. The top four superstars clashed in a mixed tag match before a sold-out crowd. Meanwhile, the rest of the roster discovered which WWE Legend will be guiding them on their journey.

After the match, teams were assigned—with one exception. It seemed Bubba Ray personally chose Brayden Ray despite their past tensions. Surprisingly, he later admitted that BJ has the most potential of any Future Great on the show.

First impressions mattered as the coaches evaluated their teams, offering tips on everything from storytelling and emotion to technical fundamentals. Tatyanna Dumas struggled early, caught in her own head. As expected, WWE LFG moves fast, and that pressure can be overwhelming.

Shawn Michaels then broke down what defines a WWE LFG star—presence, charisma, and energy that commands attention. Coaches selected four matches, igniting competition, backstage politicking, and rising tensions within teams. Even the coaches got in on the trash talk during the action.

At the end, the coaches voted for the male and female standout performers. Jasper Troy and Troy Yearwood each received two votes, forcing a tiebreaker based on star power. Shawn Michaels casted the deciding vote for Troy Yearwood, earning Team Mickie James its first point.

For the women, Leigh Laurel secured three votes, with the coaches agreeing she looked like of a star. That gave Team Booker T its first point. Despite trailing, Bubba Ray remained confident, knowing the potential of Sexy “BJ” Ray. Their rivalry—along with the ongoing trash talk between Booker and Bubba—will likely be a driving force of the season.

The Matches on Episode 2

Shiloh Hill & Dani Sekelsky vs. Alexander Luke & Tyra Mae Steele

The show opened with a mixed tag team match in front of a packed crowd. It featured the competitors from last episode’s singles bouts—Heels vs. Babyfaces. Maxxine Dupri watched from the audience as her boyfriend, Luke, competed. This time, the babyfaces—Shiloh Hill & Dani Sekelsky—emerged victorious. They displayed great chemistry, making for an entertaining match. Shiloh’s finisher was pretty sick.

Zena Sterling vs. Penina Tuilaepa

Penina Tuilaepa proved to be an absolute powerhouse, though the judges felt she needed to bring more intensity. Zena Sterling leaned into a timid, girly persona—surprising the coaches, who hadn’t expected that from her quiet demeanor. The contrasting styles made for a compelling matchup that lived up to the hype. In the end, Zena secured the win with a roll-up.

Jasper Troy vs. Chris Island

Jasper Troy played the massive heel, while Chris Island embraced the underdog babyface role. Their chemistry in the ring was evident, and despite Chris’s limited time at the PC, he showcased impressive promise and potential. Surprisingly, Chris picked up the win, but the finish felt abrupt—no roll-up, no finisher, just an ending that fell flat. Booker T noted that the comeback felt rushed and disjointed. Controversy followed, as coaches believed Jasper led the match, and Chris insisted that wasn’t the case during their confessionals.

Shiloh Hill vs. Troy Yearwood

The faceoff between these two was intense, setting high expectations for their match. In a surprising twist, Shiloh Hill worked as the heel this time. Troy Yearwood embraced the babyface role, showcasing his incredible physique and athleticism.

However, ending the match with a dropkick felt underwhelming from a fan’s perspective—hopefully, finishers will be refined as the competition progresses. Troy won the match with a clean pin. At the end, Bubba Ray emphasized the importance of making every move count. Despite that critique, both men received largely positive feedback.

Tatyanna Dumas vs. Leigh Laurel

Both women entered the match with nerves—it was their first match ever. Imagine having perform in front of four legends while essentially headlining the episode? Tatyanna Dumas took on the heel role, while Leigh Laurel played the babyface. Both showcased incredible physiques and undeniable star potential.

Despite their limited experience at the WWE PC, they delivered an impressive debut, exceeding expectations. Leigh secured the victory, and the coaches were full of praise. The Undertaker noted that Tatyanna had the look of a true sports entertainer. Leigh was commended for leading the match despite being thrown into the fire.
